Twin City Community Church exists to be in the city, creating community, through the church, all for Jesus.
Pastor Mike Shelton’s greatest desire is that the people of Winston-Salem go beyond religion and experience an authentic, transforming relationship with Christ. His hope is that after experiencing this relationship with Christ, people would also encounter the same authenticity and transformation with others as well.
As a freshman in college, Mike realized God was calling him into full-time ministry. After finishing his undergraduate degree, God led him and his wife to move to Wake Forest, North Carolina and attend Southeastern Seminary in the summer of 2001. During seminary, Mike was the student pastor at Wellspring Community Church, in Raleigh, North Carolina. After graduating from seminary with his Masters of Divinity, Mike and Holly moved to Dallas, Texas where he was the high school pastor for one of the fastest growing churches in the country, Watermark Community Church. After 12 years of family ministry in North Carolina and Texas, Mike and Holly felt led to plant a church similar to Watermark in Winston-Salem, a college town they both love. With the help of an incredible launch team, Twin City Community Church had its first service on January 19th, 2014.
Mike’s teaching, born out of an encounter with Christ, is life-changing and inspires people every week to trust Jesus for salvation and apply the Bible to every area of life. His passion to walk with people in their journey toward Christ has created an environment where anyone—no matter who they are, where they are in life, or what they’ve been through—can belong. Mike and his wife Holly have four kids: Ellie, Anna, Mary, and Graham.
